trazoM Trio

The artistic vision of Pianoforte, Inc. is exemplified by the unique musical partnership of The trazoM Trio. An outgrowth of a local chamber music camp, the trio was together for seven years (2003-2010). Performances included IMTA state conferences, various guest master classes, the Young Artists Showcase – and events sponsored by the local arts arena. The trazoM Trio donated time/talent to help raise funds for other non-profit organizations – and were featured in Muncie Magazine in 2008.

The partnership of this group was special because all three musicians doubled in strings and piano. Repertoire encompassed music from the Baroque through 21st century. Specializing in the performance of Mozart (their namesake – Mozart spelled backwards!), they also enjoyed pieces by their “composer-in-residence” – Dr. Jody Nagel (Prof. of Music at Ball State University). Dr. Nagel’s compositions included original works dedicated to the trio, as well as a variety of arrangements from the popular idiom.

Founding members of the trio are Andy Joe (violin / piano) and Alicia White (cello / piano). Dae-Hee Lee (violin / piano) were invited to join in 2003, and remained a member until the fall of 2008, at which time Brooke Latta (violin / piano) was invited to perform. All award-winning musicians, the trio attended the Jascha Heifetz Symposium annually (2005-2010), experiencing a week of intense coaching from former associates/teaching assistants of Jascha Heifetz.

The trazoM Trio was coached by Dr. Liz Seidel.
